Kapture, a leader in carbon capture technology has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PERMAcast. Kapture has developed carbon capture and storage technology that is decarbonising diesel generators, the captured CO2 can be sequestered in concrete to reduce concrete emissions. PERMAcast is a major player in the concrete industry in WA, and they will jointly conduct trials aimed at sequestering CO2 in concrete. This collaboration will explore innovative methods to integrate captured carbon dioxide into concrete production.
The trials will assess the feasibility and scalability of using captured CO2 to produce more sustainable concrete. By incorporating carbon into the concrete mix, this partnership aims to reduce the carbon footprint and is a significant step towards decarbonising the construction industry and contributing to global climate goals.
The trials are expected to commence in October 2024, with results anticipated later in the year.
