In October 2023, we had an incredible gathering at the Resources Centre of Excellence for the ZeroIN - Technology for a Decarbonised Future event in Mackay! Over 60 local and national businesses, along with leaders in the field, flocked to the event. They were just as eager as we were to explore the world of climate tech and its pivotal role in propelling regional Queensland towards decarbonisation.
The event served as a platform for innovators from the Greater Whitsunday region and beyond. It provided those attending with a unique opportunity to engage with businesses at the forefront of innovation, exploring new horizons in climate tech. Participants gained insights into the opportunities that decarbonisation presents and how the Greater Whitsunday region is gearing up for this transformative shift.
Local companies, including Prochem Group, E-Abode, Coalroc, and Volt Car Rentals, took the stage to pitch and demonstrate their innovative approaches to decarbonisation. And we were delighted to hear from Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, Julia Spicer, as well as Darryl Lyons from Rainstick and Alezeia Brown from Main Sequence. Regional expertise and insights came from Kylie Porter and Jarrah Steen from Greater Whitsunday Alliance GW3, Steven Boxall from Resources Centre for Excellence and John Colvin from Prochem Group.
A huge thanks to the wonderful teams at the Resources Centre of Excellence and GW3 for their invaluable support in hosting and organizing this event. This event was presented by the Queensland Government, through the Office of the Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, Advance Queensland, and Trade and Investment Queensland, in collaboration with Climate Salad and Decarbonisation Accelerated.
We’re looking forward to the next event in regional Queensland! Find out more here.
