The positive energy from the 2024 Melbourne Climate Tech Showcase at Melbourne Connect is still reverberating! This sold-out event featured cutting-edge climate solutions from Victoria, presented through keynotes, fireside chats with industry leaders, pitches, and demonstrations.
Drawing over 250 attendees, including investors, founders, entrepreneurs, government representatives, university teaching staff, researchers, students, and ecosystem supporters, the event served as a melting pot of ideas and innovation. High-profile industry leaders addressed challenges and opportunities in the climate tech space, while the audience explored the forefront of climate tech and gained insights into sustainable innovation's opportunities.
There was also the chance for industry professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and researchers to connect. This interaction created a dynamic environment that fostered both conversation and collaboration.
For those in attendance, the showcase offered a unique opportunity to explore the forefront of climate tech and gain insights into the opportunities that sustainable innovation presents.
The expo positively buzzed! Attendees could meet founders and experience their solutions and products first-hand. The event was opened by an official welcome by Nicholas Reece, Deputy Lord Mayor City of Melbourne, followed by a keynote by WorkForClimate’s Director Lucy Piper.
The afternoon continued with a series of fireside chats with industry leaders and investors, including Eytan Lenko (Boundless), Rachel Yang (Giant Leap), Ben Gust (Virescent), Jeff Renaud (Relectrify), Judy Slatyer (Climate Leaders Coalition), Georgia Beattie (Bulla Park) Emma Jenkin (Kilara Capital) and Katarina Throssell (Giant Leap).
Two vibrant pitch sessions brought the spotlight to 30+ Victorian Climate Tech companies. Our loudest and most sincere shout out to the founders who took the stage to share their solutions and their asks with the audience. The Showcase concluded with some supercharged networking and sector cross-pollination in pure Climate Salad style!
