Producer, director, founder and father, Christian is bringing all his skills to the Climate Salad team to execute on our suite of flagship events and community activiations, Based in the Northern Rivers region, we're lucky to call Christian our new team member, get to know Christian in our interview below.

Christian, what inspired you to jump in at Climate Salad?

I’ve been following Climate Salad closely for a while, and I’ve been inspired by how they manage to bring together and support the climate tech community. I found Climate Salad’s trajectory truly inspiring, and I am genuinely pleased to be able to join the team.

What are you working on at Climate Salad?

I am in charge of delivering our live events, showcases, and our yearly festival.

I’ve worked for many years in the festival and events space and am passionate about crafting collective experiences that create journeys of discovery, inspire and mobilise. There are terrific opportunities to bring the Australian climate tech community together to celebrate their success stories, learn from each other and cross-pollinate. I believe that tomorrow’s climate solutions will emerge from finding new alignments and learning from each other’s successes and mistakes.

What are your superpowers?
I like to be in control of what I’m responsible for but I am also a natural collaborator. I enjoy the challenge of managing multiple moving parts and stakeholders, and I guess that mentally preparing for worst-case scenarios is a guilty pleasure of mine (or just a healthy habit, having experienced a few…).

What excites you most about Climate Tech?

The combination of forward-thinking innovation and purpose.

Climate change is too complex to tackle following existing models and road maps; we need multiple solutions and we need them to materialise fast. I find the Climate Tech ecosystem and its many actors sincerely inspiring and motivating.

How do you take your coffee?

I’m Italian, so espresso is usually my caffeine intake of choice. Make it a double in the morning.

What do you do for fun on the weekends?

Chasing my two children, playing basketball when I can, and cook. The kitchen is my happy place.

What do you do to help our Climate apart from all the amazing work you do at Climate Salad?

I try to be mindful about the sustainability of the products I consume and their provenance. I live regionally and buy locally whenever and as much as possible. I learn and adapt, and I try to transfer whatever new knowledge I acquire to my peers.
